Is Overthinking your superpower?
3 min readOct 18, 2020
We cannot solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them!
-Albert Einstein
I’ve been accused of being an overthinker and I am completely guilty! I’ve actually seen this as a positive thing all along. The ability to think things through to excruciating detail and in a jiffy seems like a boon. It’s practise, you know ;)
Here’s how you know if you’re an over thinker:
- Your thoughts are primarily about what has already happened or what could happen
- You cannot sleep at will, your brain will never just shut off
- You think through a lot of “What if” scenarios
- You express everything in a more structured manner than most people
- There’s very little that can surprise or shock you because you would have already thought about it
- You, by default, analyse everything you hear, see, or experience and your favourite question is the deep “why?”
- You might find yourself mostly thinking things through than executing
- You want everything to be neat and organised
- You are good at picking up important social cues
